Artist Carlos Betancourt's most recent artworks will be on view during the official Art Basel Miami Beach 2011 Artist Studio Visits program. The studio will be open for visits Saturday, December 3, 2011 9am-12 noon. (map and directions included below). Also, during Art Basel week, the Miami Art Museum has commisioned the artist to create 10 unique artworks to be exhibited as table center pieces for the MAM Ball taking place Saturday, December 3rd, 7PM. In addition, the artist recent artworks will be on view during Art Basel Miami Beach at the Art-Miami art fair with Edelman Arts NY.

ARTIST BIOGRAPHY :
Artist Carlos Betancourt (1966) was born and raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico. In 1981 he moved to Miami Beach, Florida. Mr. Betancourt’s artwork is part of public collections such as the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, the Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery in Washington, DC, the Miami Art Museum, the San Antonio Museum of Art in Texas, the Bass Museum of Art in Miami Beach, Museo de Arte Ponce, Puerto Rico, Palm Springs Art Museum, California the Fort Lauderdale Museum of Art, the Centro Atlantico de Arte Moderno in the Canary Islands, etc. Mr. Betancourt’s artwork has been included in multiple solo and group exhibits as well as art fairs such as Art Basel and Arco. He is the recipient of numerous awards and grants, including the Florida Department of State Millennium Cultural Recognition Award, a National Endowment for the Arts Grant, and the Miami Beach Arts Council Grant. He has been awarded commissions to create artworks for various Art in Public Places programs. Betancourt is co-founder of 801 Projects, an arts studio center that provides studio space for visual artists based in Miami. He currently keeps a studio in Miami while working for various cities as well.

Álvarez is 1.74m tall and will be representing Colombia at the 61st edition of Miss Universe 2012 - Possibly being held in South Africa
23-year-old Daniella has been crowned Señorita Colombia 2012 in a pageant finale held at Cartagena Convention Center in Cartagena Monday evening. Alvarez, who competed as Señorita Atlántico, stands 1.73 m. tall and will represent Colombia at Miss Universe 2012.

Funkshion - Fashion Week Miami Beach celebrates its 16th season with an amazing line up of shows, benefits, and concerts. The, two block long, state of the art fashion and event tents will be built directly the sand, with an entrance on 10th Street and Ocean Drive in Lummus Park in the heart of Miami Beach, Fl. The venue will feature three unique spaces with a large court yard for sponsor activations in the main area.

FUNKSHION: Fashion Week Miami Beach is a four day/evening long event that provides an intelligent, innovative platform for progressive and established designers to showcase their collections to media, celebrities, international buyers, and select style makers. The shows are geared towards designer diffusion collections and innovative lifestyle brands. Designers will integrate music into their shows, many personally selecting their favorite celebrity DJs and
bands to preside over their runway shows.

Federico Visuetti started making clothes for himself in 1988; he was a Finance major in USMA (Universidad Santa Maria la Antigua) at the time.^[1] Panama was going through political turmoil making it hard for a fashion designer to be able to showcase clothing. In 1990 he has an opportunity to present his fashion line. The event was called "Panamá, Color y Moda". He found this opportunity as a thermometer as to see if he could pursue his designer career. After receiving positive reviews, he finished his major in Finance in 1994 and embarked to take classes in the United States of America. He took courses in tailoring, technical perfection of drawing, painting, "look" and image.

Federico Visuetti is a Panamanian fashion designer and creative director of “Traviesa” by Federico Visuetti. He has designed fantasy costumes for the Panama Carnival as well as for the Miss Universe pageant. He has been designing for 22 years slowly branching out to international venues.

Federico Visuetti, makes two fashion collection a year. He designs for male and females in bold and sophisticated lines focusing on avant-garde design which have characterize his creations. Visuetti takes inspiration from the world's ethnic groups including Panama’s, as well as aspects of the fauna and flora found in that country. He designs thinking about the folkloric aspect of Panama as well as the traditions.^[4] He also uses a blend of fine textiles and trends according to the climate of Panama, while also using a wide palette of colors.
